After getting feedback from my recent
suggestions wanted post, I've made a couple of changes that should help improve Crimespace.
First up, you'll no longer find the latest forum posts on the main page. I'm only going to feature a few general Crimespace posts, the plan being to encourage members to click through to the
Forum, where the bulk of discussion takes place. The reason for doing this is that topics are dropping out of sight and mind once they leave the front page, when they could be provoking further discussion.
Secondly, I've added a new profile question for all members. It's called "I Am A:" and has five multiple choice answers in the form of Reader, Writer, Librarian, Publisher, Editor, Agent. So please
edit your profile and fill us all in.
I would assume that all members are readers, but it's possible that some are more than one of the others. This question will now be a required answer for all new members and should help us find like-minded souls more easily.
In the near future I am also looking at adding a flash fiction section to the website, complete with podcasting. More details on that to come. To keep me busy until that happens, I've started work on a resource section. Once I have enough of it together, I hope that members will contribute and I can expand it to be the best collection of crime fiction links on the internet.
Lastly, if these changes don't work out, I can always go back to how things were.
As Ike Turner or Yogi Berra once said, "Things are more like they are now than they ever were before."
I think there's something in that for all of us.
