More praise for The Troubleshooter

Phxman posted this review of The Troubleshooter on Amazon: “A 21st Century Shaft. Cool under pressure, doesn't back down from a challenge, isn't always right, but he doesn't give up. This book has a good tempo, a good read. I can't wait to get the next in the series.”…

A Case of Home Town Blues

            W. S. Gager’s A Case of Hometown Blues follows Mitch Malone, award winning journalist, as he returns to the chaos and evil of the Michigan town where he grew up. Malone is a success out in the larger world, but when he comes home, he – like the rest of us – reverts back to the social status he had when he was in high school. And like for most of us, that’s not good.

While he’s dealing with this reversion, he also has to deal with the murder of his old…

FRIDAY ROUND-UP

Alternative marketing--and goats? See how John Brantingham ties the two together on this week's Round-Up. Meet "David," a virtual book reviewer (cyborgs really are taking over) and find out who the "Wild Woman" is in our publishing house. Sunny Frazier defends Fresno and talks about the Politics of Publishing, while Marja McGraw wants to know "How's Your Credibility." All that and more at the Friday…

More praise for The Troubleshooter

Matt Dwyer posted a positive review of The Troubleshooter on Amazon.com. Even though he called my book an "easy read" he liked Hannibal Jones as a hero. I have made his full comments the featured review on my web site so you can read them for yourself. http://www.ascamacho.com

Join The Gang

Rick Robinson, Sunny Frazier, and Sparkle Abbey.

Three authors (four actually since SA is actually two collaborators) to whom I must give credit for making me think about this week’s blog. Let me explain.

Many moons ago, I met Sunny Frazier, Oak Tree Press’ acquisition editor, at the Killer Nashville conference. She was personable, open, friendly and we became…

A novel journey part one

I’m going to blog first about how I came to be a writer, and the journey to where I am today.

Writing has come in many shapes and sizes. I’ve written articles for magazines and press, adverts for television, radio, press, billboard and web. I’ve also written scripts and storylines for television dramas in the UK and abroad; and two recent novels, the first of which is available soon.

My writing career started back in the 1990’s, following a meeting…

Author Update

The Arts & Crafts Bazaar at Fort Belvoir Oktoberfest wasn't quite what I expected. The field house that held the bazaar was a couple miles away from the carnival rides and other attractions, so there wasn't as much traffic as I thought there would be. Still, I met some nice folks and signed a fair number of books.

Also my review of The Warlord of Willow Ridge by Gary Phillips is in The Big Thrill, the newsletter of the International Thriller Writers. Whether you’re looking for a…
