I took two runs at *Fortress of Solitude*. Still in the To-Be-Read pile, but towards the bottom now.

I like your author list (sounds like mine!). I'd like to recommend you take a look at the late, great Fredric Brown. Also James Sallis' *Drive* is brief, but masterful.

Not sure if you've read *No Country for Old Men* but it's another of Cormac McCarthy's winners. The last 40 pages have little to do with the story, but they do explain the title. Because of his strong writing, I couldn't stop reading until I reached the end.

Your choices of writers, terrific, movies, not too shabby either. I've been trying to get a DVD of *Memento,* but none of the local Blockbusters have it.
