Profile Information

Hometown:
Northwest Indiana
About Me:
I'm the author of 4 published horror/mystery novels. Growing up I fell in love with reading very early and tended to read horror and mystery the most. I am also a big fan of films in the same genres.
My first novel, UNFINISHED BUSINESS, was published in 2003 and it's paranormal.
Second book is a dark romantic fantasy entitled, DESTINY'S CALL.
Next, is a horror novel called THE ACADEMY. It is currently being adapted into a screenplay. Keep your fingers crossed!
And my fourth entitled, INVISIBLE SHIELD is about a female homicide detective who has to solve her own murder. It was released April 30,2007 and so far reviews and response has been great.
Each of my books has a mystery in it, because I just can't get away from it!

Books And Authors I Like:
My all time favorite book, aside from my own would be Catcher In The Rye. I was the dork in the high school English class who loved to be there and couldn't wait to start reading every assigned story.
I fell in love with the main character in Catcher, and have never stopped.
Favorite authors would include:
Stephen King
Kelley Armstrong
James Patterson
David Morrell
J.A. Konrath
Robert W. Walker
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
Movies, wow that's a tough one. Too many to list that's for sure.
Anything Hitchcock.
Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte
And for TV, I'd have to say I grew up on a steady diet of Charlie Chan and Sherlock Holmes. I still pull them out and watch them at times.

Magna Cum Murder

I attended my first Magna conference this past weekend and had a great time! I made new acquaintances and managed not to get killed on I-65. Every time I go to a writer's con, I feel pumped and ready to write when I get back. I needed the shot in the arm as I've been struggling with a couple of manuscripts. One is a stand-alone suspense, the other horror.
Thanks to several writing vets at Magna, I learned a few tricks for spurring the old creative juices. So now I'm off and running a… Continue

Web Woes

Well the second book in the Frost Sister Mystery Series is at the publisher. Now comes the nail biting time. So meantime back at the ranch,I'm busy working on the stand alone suspense that has been calling my name.

But if that isn't enough to keep me busy, my internet connection boots me off after about 5-10 minutes. Makes it tough to do research and answer emails. I have to keep rebooting the computer to get back on for another precious few minutes. That's part of the reason I've been

Book signing success!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Borders book signing on Saturday
the 14th. Wow! Invisible Shield sold out of the Borders'
stock and then I sold a few of the ones I brought along! It was
great to see the other Five Star authors, Julie Hyzy, Mike Black, Dave
Case and Tom Keevers, who signed their books too. We all had a
great time and went out to dinner afterwards. If you email me
privately I can give you the details on who ordered what. :))

Yesterday I went to my local library to sugg… Continue

Invisible Shield

Well, it's been a month since the release of Invisible Shield
and it has received great reviews from reviewers, authors and most of
all--my readers! The book is available to order through
bookstores and on Amazon.com.

I've scheduled a promotional events and I can't wait to get out and
meet readers both familiar and new. Meanwhile, I've finished the
second book in the Frost sisters series and have written the first 100
pages of a stand-alone suspense novel. Of course, my house is a

Hi, Scarlett,

Megabusy all the time, so apologies for the delay in thanking you so much for your Friend Invitation.
I'm Brit, living in Brittany, NW France, dumped six months back by my London agent, still trying to get a foothold back in the writing wracket - because I actually BELIEVE in the book I've written - even if the skeptics don't. Meanwhile, working on a project I believe will be even better.
I do appreciate your support.
Best, David

Scarlett,

Love your book trailer! I apologize for not staying in touch--and haven't been on CS much lately. We are having our first Putnam County READS Project--hope to get all adults & young adults to read AN UNFINISHED LIFE, by Mark Spragg in 2008, and holding discussions at the library & throughout Putnam County--plus a dinner and a movie night--and pizza and a movie night for teens. Another major undertaking! So, the Festival of the BOOK will be an every-other year event. Save September 2009! Trying to do the READS project and the FESTIVAL is too much in one year. Thank you for the great blog about your experience! Everyone still loves you!!

Hi Scarlett
Hope you're well. I'm pleased to say Reaper is now available in the States on amazon.com at $16.99. In advanced search type Dunne for author and Reaper for title. Hope you take a look and spread the word. How're things on your side of the pond?
Best wishes
