CRAFTING TWISTS AND DROPPING CLUES

Today I gave a mini version to the Las Vegas Quill Keepers of the workshop I'll be presenting at the Las Vegas Writers Conference in April 2010...in...where else? Las Vegas. The title is "Crafting Twists and Dropping Clues." It was very well received, so I can't wait to present it complete with Power Point and a short interactive workshop.

While preparing the presentation, I realized that one of my all-time favorite Twist and Clue movies was "The Usual Suspects." I revisited it and… Continue

True Crime Anthology and True Crime Writers

Good day, friends:

I am working on a true crime anthology with the International Thriller Writers and looking for some top notch true crime writers who might be willing to contribute a "thrilling" original tale with a crime component.

Let me know.

Best,

Barri

It's called Writers Together. Now, I'm a huge fan of Noir and crime fiction, so what I'm doing with the mag is an entire section devoted to just that, and let me tell you Noir City ROCKS!

I'm looking to feature Noir and Crime Writers, books and artists. If you have written a book(s) and would like to be… Continue

Forgotten Book Friday

(When Patti Abbott asked me to write a blog about a book I thought had been forgotten, it didn’t take me but a nanosecond to know what book it would be about. When I pulled it off the bookshelf, I realized I couldn’t explain it without going into explanation of the author, because the book affected my teenage years and the author a good part of the rest of my life.)

Writer Dennis Lynds had many claims to fame in his lifetime; being… Continue

Toto, we're in Kansas

We’ve arrived. After weeks of living out of a suitcase and bedding down in five different places, we’re ready to move into our new home next week. I can’t wait. I never thought I’d hear myself say this, but I’m sick of eating out. I’m actually craving healthy food and that’s almost disturbing. Also, I gained five pounds (I had an official weigh-in of sorts this week), which really isn’t that bad considering my diet the last few weeks.

Thus far, I like Kansas. Yes, you’ve read that… Continue
