I’ll be one of more than thirty writers participating in the Black Authors & Readers Rock Weekend. It kicks off Friday at 7pm with a reception, a book launch and a discussion of Pamela Samuels Young's latest novel, "Attorney Client Privilege."
Saturday I will be on two of the four panel discussions: "Is Urban Lit Really Literature," "So You Wanna Write," "What Impact has the Ebook had on Black Publishing," and "How to Start, Improve and Get the Most Out of Your Book Club." Then…
Bud Scott posted a five-star review of The Troubleshooter on Amazon.com. Because I found it interesting to see my detective Hannibal Jones compared to The Lone Ranger, I’ve made this the featured review on my web site. Check it out – http://www.ascamacho.com

And like for most of us, that’s not good.

Three authors (four actually since SA is actually two collaborators) to whom I must give credit for making me think about this week’s blog. Let me explain.
Many moons ago, I met Sunny Frazier, Oak Tree Press’ acquisition editor, at the Killer Nashville conference. She was personable, open, friendly and we became…

I’m going to blog first about how I came to be a writer, and the journey to where I am today.
Writing has come in many shapes and sizes. I’ve written articles for magazines and press, adverts for television, radio, press, billboard and web. I’ve also written scripts and storylines for television dramas in the UK and abroad; and two recent novels, the first of which is available soon.
My writing career started back in the 1990’s, following a meeting…
