About Me:: L.L. Bartlett honed her characterization and plotting skills as a frequent writer for romance magazines. Her manuscript, Murder in Morton Mills, a traditional mystery, was a finalist in the St. Martin's/Malice Domestic contest.

Her first novel, a psychological suspense, Murder On The Mind, was published in late 2005 by Five Star / Thomson-Gale. Its sequel, Dead in Red, will be available in June 2008.

Bartlett also writes cozy mysteries under the name Lorna Barrett. Murder Is Binding will be published by Berkley Prime Crime in April, 2008.

D'oh!

Sometimes I feel like Homer Simpson. I forgot what I'm doing or what I'm thinking as fast as I'm doing it. I'll walk into the kitchen and wonder what the hell I'm doing there. Then I have to smack myself in the head and go "D'oh!"

What's wrong with this picture?

A gun.

That's what's wrong.

That someone, without a felony can, in almost every county in this country, go out and buy a gun and then use it to kill 32 innocent people.

Both mystery/thrillers but one a sequel to a book with a recovering alcoholic sleuth who owns a parking garage in LA, the other a historical set against the backdrop of the Civil War in New Mexico.
