G.S.I. Gelati's Scoop Investigations Psychotic Detectives Thomas White/ Giovanni "The G-Man" Gelati

The stories just keep coming fast and furious. I have been fortunate to be able to tap into a pool of amazing and talented authors that have a true enthusiasm for their craft. These men and women are in my estimation just incredible authors and people. Basically they are taking a blogger, me, and risking a chance of really being embarrassed as I may drag them to my level and consequently produce some really rotten stuff. What has happened though is nothing short of brilliance. Thomas White’s…

Buy this, buy this, buy this, look at me

Hey, you!

Buy this book, or buy this book, but definitely buy this book or just pay attention to this sentence and buy something later.

Does BSP work? Or do readers find authors organically through non-BSP means?

Book Review of "Conflict Of Interest" by Lauryn Christoper

It’s a strange feeling to like an assassin and I wouldn’t have thought I would. After all, as a therapist, I’m more into the “let’s make people feel better” side of things. Yet there’s no question that in “Conflict Of Interest,” author Lauryn Christopher manages to portray Margaret Harrison, corporate consultant, in a such a way that I find it completely understandable that she hires out to kill people as a side gig. A girl needs to make some play money, after all. Have a little savings set…

Amazing Archaeology by Margot Justes

The search is on for the remains of the Mona Lisa, researchers have localized the area where the remains of La Giaconda have rested for centuries. And the dig is on, literally.

It took archaeologists about two weeks to find the crypt in a deserted convent; they used ground penetrating radar, the same type of radar used for military purposes, only this time it was art research-pure and simple.

The hunt is on for Lisa Gherardini Del Giacondo, she is believed to have been the… Continue

Serial Killer’s Paintings to Be Sold for Charity

Criminals who are waiting out their time on death row engage in a variety of activities to make the days pass.  Some read countless law books in hopes of finding a way to appeal their sentence.  Others take up writing or music in the limited ways that their circumstances will allow.  Serial killer John Wayne Gacy…

Reviewers, Part 3

So, another in a long line of book reviewers steps into the arena. I hope you will check out Brayton's Book Buzz, http://braytonsbookbuzz.blogspot.com, where I want to provide a fun and intelligent review of the literature I read. I do a bit of reviewing at GoodReads.com, but I wish to expand a little more in the Buzz postings.

I want to be honest without being overly critical. I mentioned last week about the conditions I must follow… Continue

The Proposition:Intangibles Cody Toye

Are you ready to Rumble? Want to read a seriously dark, angry, violent origin story to a new and gripping sci-fi/fantasy digital short story franchise? Do you groove on fire golems and wolves? In the future after reading this are you going to stare at people on the beach to see if they do indeed possess a belly button? How many more questions can I right in a row? Will I ever tell you what this story is about and stop beating around the bush? Can I in fact get to what is between the virtual…

Crazy research for the crime writer

Here are some of the things I have learnt whilst writing a crime novel -

Anyone can fit inside a pop our cake. Most of these cakes aren't cakes after all. They may have frosting on the outside, but the rest is usually cardboard. This is a bit disappointing when you want your character to eat their way out of the cake.

Hello All

I do appologize for my delay in posting to this site. My computer is sick you see. I call her Minerva. She shares a name with a character in one of my stories. Anyway my computer has been in bed all day with a terrible cough and high fever. Her doctor wrote her a prescription for Norton which I had filled but she hasn't responded to that either.

Lucky for me I am so paranoid that I have about 3 different copies of my work stashed away in case something like this should…

Author's dilemma: What's next?

Damn, I’ve done it again. Finished a novel, sent it to my publisher…Oh, dear. What’s next?

If I write that this is THE authorial dilemma, I’m sure I’ll get emails from writers who just can’t finish their book, or from readers who’d like to be writers telling me that I shouldn’t be complaining about such a pleasant quandary.

So let me say that I’m not complaining. Just…

UNCONVENTIONAL CONVENTIONS

Mystery conventions have to be some of the wackiest, most creative and high energy get-togethers around, Comic Con not withstanding (if you can stand a hundred Darth Vadersroaming around).

Years ago, when I was starting out in the mystery field, a small conference called Bare Bones took place in the hills above Escondido in a church camp near the town of Julian. We stayed in cabins, ate…
